1. I underestimated how difficult it would be to explain the concept of water.

2. The power outages had become more frequent, and the fear in the eyes of the citizens meant that they knew it wouldn’t be long now.

3. Clark got up early each morning before work to get coffee, read the paper, and pray that his predictions were wrong.

4.It had been 2 years, 34 days, and 128 minutes since the lights went out.

5. I realized today that I couldn’t recall what grass felt like.
